An Update on RV Like A Pro

We have some news to share with you. A bit of information about us personally. First though, an update on RV Like A Pro. The website is doing very well. It is a lot of work but we are having fun with it. As always, if you have any ideas or questions please feel free to email us.

Fred’s New Job

Now, it is time to “come clean” about Fred’s job. He is no longer an RV tech. He was an RV tech for about 10 years. Then after three (yes 3) open heart surgeries in the last 2 years he simply shouldn’t do that kind of work regularly. This is actually why we started RV Like A Pro, so Fred would have something to do while he was recovering from surgery. He needed a purpose and we were not sure he would ever be able to return to any kind of work. Fred is doing really well now. However, due to his new physical limitations he has moved to RV sales. He is still not sure if he really likes it as the hours are not very conducive to family life. After what he has been through family is the most important thing to him so he is having a hard time adjusting to his new hours. Fred is doing well in sales though. He is honest with the customers and I think they can sense that. We all know how slimy some sales people are. Fred kicks himself daily with “that one got away” because he is just not comfortable ‘sticking his hand into someone else’s wallet’. When he first started he had a really hard time because he would think: “I know that camper isn’t right for them, I’m not comfortable selling it to them”. Since then, his mission is now: “I will find them the right camper for their family and they are going to LOVE it!”

We got a new camper!!

Now to more exciting (and positive) news…WE got a new camper!!! It is a new (to us) Class C Fleetwood Tioga. It is a 32 foot motor home. A motor home is just more our speed. We like to keep moving and see lots of new things and cover a lot of ground. It just makes more sense for us. Another advantage for us is that our daughter now has her own bed over the cab. In our old 5th wheel she had to sleep on the couch, which meant putting her bed away every day. Now she has her own space, just for her. Oh, and she doesn’t have to travel next to the dog. No more “she is drooling on me!” Or “MOVE OVER!” LOL. We are all much happier traveling in the motor home.

Josey Wales found her spot. Right between the seats so she can see where we are going.
After a long weekend camping she sleeps all the way home.

So far we have taken the Tioga out on a couple of really local (like 45 minutes away) weekends and one long weekend in Southern Minnesota. It has worked like a champ and we are loving it! The Tioga actually has a lot of storage (more than our 5th wheel did) and it drives really well too. We have a larger trip planned for the fall but we will tell you about that later.

That’s all for now! Happy Camping!

We bought our trailer from Fred, he did a great job, was very thorough and honest. I would encourage anyone in the area looking for an RV to go see him.
    Thanks

We bought our camper from Fred and were pleased with how he treated us. We went through many campers on an extremely hot and muggy day. I drive a hard bargain. Fred made it happen for us. Just sad we bought late summer so have to put away for the year. Can’t wait for spring.
