Upcoming RV Shows
RV shows are excellent places to see many different varieties of campers all in one area. That way you can see what is new and really narrow down what you are looking for. We are compiling a list of RV shows, starting with shows in the Midwest United States, and will keep adding shows as we learn about them. If you have one you would like to add, please let us know. Here are a list of upcoming shows by state: Alabama RV Shows Gulf Coast RV Show January 9 – 11, 2020 Mobile Convention Center – Mobile, AL Alabama RV Super Show February 14 – 16, 2020 Von Braun…

An Update on RV Like A Pro
We have some news to share with you. A bit of information about us personally. First though, an update on RV Like A Pro. The website is doing very well. It is a lot of work but we are having fun with it. As always, if you have any ideas or questions please feel free to email us. Fred’s New Job Now, it is time to “come clean” about Fred’s job. He is no longer an RV tech. He was an RV tech for about 10 years. Then after three (yes 3) open heart surgeries in the last 2 years he simply shouldn’t do that kind of work regularly. This…

Cost of RV Vacations
Lately I have seen a few posts on social media about how people are “done with RVing” because of how expensive it is. I think people honestly thought that just because they were not flying in an airplane and staying in a hotel they were not going to have to spend any money on vacation. Just because you are not flying and staying in a hotel (which are both very expensive) it doesn’t mean that your vacation as a whole is going to be that much cheaper. It all depends on how you like to travel and how much time you have. In this article I am going to put…

MRVDA Twin Cities RV Super Show
This past weekend was the MRVDA Twin Cities RV Super Show at US Bank Stadium. For those that are not familiar with US Bank Stadium, it is the new Vikings stadium in Minneapolis. The Vikings have played 3 seasons in this stadium and stadium tours are still going strong. The MRVDA show is cool because it is put on by the local dealers and is a great place for serious RV buyers to go. There is not a lot of “fluff” at this show. By “fluff” I mean RV gadgets, campgrounds, things like that. This show is for selling RVs. One funny downside to this show was the electric shocks!…

49th Annual Minnesota Sportsmen’s Show
This past weekend we attended the 49th Annual 2019 Minnesota Sportsmen’s Boat, Camping, and Vacation Show in St. Paul, Minnesota. This show has something for everyone that loves the outdoors. It has everything from boats and RVs to fishing and hunting equipment. There are also representatives from a variety of resorts, lodges, and outfitters. Even if you are not in the market to buy anything there are plenty of seminars and demonstrations to enjoy. Non RV Highlights The Sportsmen’s show definitely has something for everyone. A couple of our favorite booths are “Fur-Ever Wild” and “Steve Porter’s Trophy Whitetail”. Both of these booths are live animal displays. Fur-Ever Wild is…

Pine Cone Fire Starters
OK. I know this isn’t exactly a camping article but aren’t these fire starters cute?! And who can’t use a fire starter while they are camping? They are so handy! These pine cone fire starters are so easy to make too! Our daughter loves to do crafts and learn to make new things so we are making these together for Christmas presents this year. Materials Needed: Pine cones Wax – I bought cheap candles at the craft store. Crayons – if you would like to make colored fire starters. String – I used yarn. Golf Carts
How many times have you been to a campground and seen all of the “seasonal campers” riding around on their golf carts and thought “man that looks like fun!”? Well, on a recent camping trip to a very large campground we realized exactly how valuable a golf cart can be. The campground we went to was over 150 acres. The walk from our campsite to the lake took over 15 minutes. The campground was huge! Our truck gets about 8 miles to the gallon. Not something that you want to just tool around a campground in. Thankfully our friends are seasonal campers at this campground and they had a golf…

S’more Please!
I love nothing more than a s’more by the campfire. S’mores have been the go-to treat for campers since, well, forever. The gooey marshmallow and chocolate between two graham crackers has been a favorite for decades. Lately though, I have been hearing more variations for this classic treat. Everything from s’more “cheese balls” to s’more stuffed waffles to s’more sushi (yup, you read that right s’more sushi). Some of these variations look super labor intensive, beautiful even, but a lot of work. Abby and I decided that we wanted to try some of these different s’mores. We compiled a huge list and narrowed it down to 6 that we wanted…
